Oh, also a note for my fellow Trekkies: I'm the guy responsible for TrekCore.com's Rare Photo and Ultimately Human specials, and basically flooding the internet via TrekCore with a few thousand awesome and rare Star Trek photos for the past 5 years. So... yeah. Oh and, go through my Archive, it is frakking awesome and shiny!

So a few months ago, someone on Tumblr told me about a cool little site for sharing a song on Tumblr when it’s too big to fit the size restrictions (5 mins, 10 mbs) and that site was called SoundCloud. 

I’ve used it a couple of times to share different pieces of music from soundtracks.  Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, so on and so forth.  Any track too big got put on there versus the built-in Tumblr audio stream system.

With today being April 5 (First Contact day for Trekkies) I wanted to share the titular track from the film, which is really beautiful and lovely and some of Jerry Goldsmith’s (RIP) best work, IMHO.

Sadly, the copyright nazis that are the RIAA and MPAA and so on and so forth have apparently gotten to SoundCloud.  Because upon uploading this lovely song to share with the few dozen people who might play it via my Tumblr, I was told it was copyright protected, blah blah blah, and that it wouldn’t let me do such.

One more victory for the copyright nazis.  One more strike against harmless sharing and friendly fun. 

Sigh.
